Family portrait sessions. What can I say? Family portrait sessions are among my most favorite to photograph. I love showing all of the fun and love that a families have together. My session with this completely adorable family was no exception. 

I suggest an urban session for these guys. I had photographed them once before and they have this cool, kind of street vibe. Their last session was done at the studio, and I thought it would be super fun to get them out into the streets and alleys of Greensburg. Mom was all about it and Dad was too, but he made a request for some greenery and foliage for their session. I knew just the perfect spot to that I could mix the two styles for them. 

We started their session at St. Clair Park in Greensburg. It has the perfect "rolling hills" and big trees to check off Dad's request for a little bit of foliage. 

They began their session in these really fun shirts. They each had a battery on their shirts, but Mommy and Daddy's batteries were dangerously drained while the boys' batteries were at full power! If that doesn't totally sum up parenting, I don't know what does. So we did a few fun poses to really showcase them. 

Exhausted Mom and Dad, and full of energy kiddos. All parents around the world can totally relate to that! 

After getting a few great poses of the family with green and trees, we headed over to my favorite spot in town. I love to photograph in this alley in Greensburg that has all white walls and this really great brick road. I love all of the texture and how the families just pop out against all of the white. Not to mention how the light bounces around and lights up everyone's faces! It really is my happy place! hahaha!'

Just look at how awesome these guys look! I LOVED their choice in wardrobe. Mom and Dad did a fantastic job coordinating everyone without looking too matchy, matchy. Aren't they just perfect in this setting? I am so in love with all of their photos.

For family portrait sessions, I always make sure to breakdown the group a little too. I love getting just mom with the kids, just dad with the kids, siblings together, and of course kiddos individually too. 

Not to mention these totally handsome kiddos! They were both such rock stars for the session, completely nailing every pose and expression. I told their mom that they must have a career in modeling. They were on fire!

Am I right? Totally and completely adorable kiddos, right? 

My most favorite thing about photographing family portraits sessions is grabbing special moments from behind the camera that I know these families will hold close to their hearts forever. I like getting them laughing together or group hugging or just looking at each other. The latter always ends up in laughter together anyhow! hahaha! I also try to make some time to get a few moments between just Mom and Dad during family portrait sessions, after all they are the reason everyone is here!
