About a month ago I wrote all about one of my best friend's maternity session, and I told you about how they were expecting their rainbow baby. Well she is here! Welcome to the world baby Paige!
For her newborn session we planned on continuing the rainbow theme from the maternity session. But we wanted to go with subtle rainbow touches instead of using literal rainbows.
I found this totally sweet and dainty floral crown on Etsy. You should check out this shop, Lucky Crickets, she makes the most gorgeous floral crowns and headbands. I love that this headband is tiny and doesn't overpower sweet Paige.
I will share a few more rainbow photos in just a bit. I have to show you how PROUD this new big brother is of his baby sister. He kept asking me during their session if he could hold baby sister for some photos. My answer to that was, "Of course!", I love capturing sweet moments between new siblings during a newborn session.
Can't you just tell how proud he is to be a big brother from that huge grin he has? I also love how he looks at her so sweet and tender like she is the most delicate baby he has ever seen. This image right here, with his tiny fingers cradling her sweet, little face makes my heart skip a beat.
This new big brother was even a total champ during family photos!
How gorgeous is she? I can't say with confidence that I looked this good one week after giving birth. She is totally stunning! Another one of my favorite things from a newborn session is capturing those first Mommy/Daddy and baby portraits.
I don't know if there is anything much more adorable than a Daddy loving on his brand new, baby girl!
If there is, it just might be that same little girl all snuggled up in this gorgeous mermaid tail! This tail was hand made by her Gigi. I have never seen another mermaid tail that is as beautiful as this one.
Newborn photo sessions really lend themselves to black and white photos. At least, that's what I think. Black and white photos are so timeless. I think they really show the emotion, they let you in on the quiet moments, and they really emphasize the details. Those tiny, wrinkly feet. Those little fingers gripping on to Daddy's thumb. A sweet snuggle between new siblings. That tiny, squishy baby fitting in the palm of your hand. In black and white you see more than the color of their clothes and accessories. You see them.
If you are expecting your own little bundle of joy and are in search of a newborn photographer, I would love to speak with you! Contact me today to set up your newborn photo session!
